Sunrise Beach Deer

We went to Kingsland, Texas and near there we drove through
a little community called Sunrise Beach! The whitetail deer are so unafraid they are a nuisance!
The small deer above were snooping around in a garage!
This buck stuck his tongue out in utter disrespect of the four of us in the car!
This next two were so pretty with their racks I shot them in a painless way!
This last character was so bored he yawned at us!

Ranch Hand Breakfast at King Ranch Texas

Every year the King Ranch in Kingsville Texas hosts the Ranch Hand Breakfast !I always cheer for the calves getting roped since the cowboys have lots of cheering fans! This gets me lots of stares and I love the attention!

The gentleman was telling great stories and poems about ranch life!
This gentleman fiddler was one member of the Roughrider 3 piece band!
 Here's the guitar man!
These young cowboys were too cute!
My friend Lynda was learning about playing the wash tub!

Fed Deer and Cardinals

These pictures were possible because a responsible land owner provided water and corn. I was so happy to see them! We sure need rain in Corpus Christi, Texas!

HEROES ON THE WATER

June the 7th, Elaine and Don Graves arrived at our Laguna Shore Village RV Park to participate in the Heroes on the Water Event! The Soldiers with various challenges were taken out on the Laguna Madre in kayaks. The last picture shows one man with a halo on his ankle. One of the men won Biggest Redfish in a competition called Casting for a Cause! There was a crawfish boil and banquet! Note Elaine's getting ready to eat a mud-bug. Donations went to M.S and Heroes on the Water. We Donated a night's RV site and a storage unit for the kayaks. They said they'll be back! Hope so!

The photoprincess got a new 35mm lens for the Nikons d5100 and d3100. I love the lens and today I went out to Padre Island by Bob Hall Pier. The sunrise was gorgeous and so peaceful! The only stress was in trying to be ready as it unfolded. I used my tripod and played with my remote control some too. Thank You Jehovah for such a beautiful planet you made man on!
It was hard to see the condition of the sand I was driving into but I made it ok. I tried using a very high iso but I liked the results better with the iso lower and the slower shutter on the tripod. The lens opens up to 1.8 and that helps but I wanted to use f5 for best clarity. Oh well these are the results. I can only approximate the beauty of being there. I hope you enjoy. Try to get out at sunrise and see this beautiful planet come alive!

Sail Away With Me!

Wednesday after five on Laguna Shores Road this man was Kite Surfing! It looks like a lot of fun!
I've often dreamed of taking giant steps and that's what this looked liked to me! I hope you like the pics.

My Favorite Time of Day!

Being a morning person has lots of benefits! I love to see the sunrise over the Laguna Madre! Sea Gulls are plentiful to add spice to the food for the eyes. I learned long ago that silhouettes are more appealing with recognizable players. I hope you enjoy this scene too! Check out my older blogs for local scenery!

New Life in Red Head Pond

This morning I was so surprised! I am out every morning looking for picture opps. This morning I drove by Red Head Pond on Jamaica Drive here in Corpus Christi and got a real treat! There on the pond that had been totally dried up only two months ago, was a duck and her new babies! What a wonderful rejuvenation of what had dried up completely. We went through a terrible drought last year! This family of ducks makes me feel so comforted that the wildlife are back on the pond and that the pond is back!

Texas Deer Association Tournament

Brandon Key and Bryan Burger among others came to our Laguna Shore Village RV Park this weekend. They helped put on the Texas Deer Association Brush to Bay Fishing Tournament. 50% of the proceeds go to the Wounded Warriors Program, Warrior's Roadtrip Network and CMO, Combat Marines Outdoors. These organizations take Wounded Warriors out of chairs and beds to the water and hunting, along with their families. Helpers donate time to show appreciation. They have a couple of all terrain wheelchairs with tracks on them to overcome obstacles in the field. We donated one RV site to their cause.

Lilly of the Laguna!

Beautiful Jo and my lovely Lilly all opened up! We have been enjoying this Lilly so much! Pat and Barry Krause from Canada gave me this years ago and we dig it up each year and replant the bulbs! It has really beautified our garden area here at Laguna Shore Village! All the area wildflowers are beautiful too!

Spring along the Laguna Madre is spectacular for me! My Lilly is opening better than in years past! I took the upper picture with my new Tamron 60mm F2 lens. It is so nice and sharp for flowers! It's hard to take a bad photo of flowers!
The lower photo was a sunrise this morning. I love to park by the shore and absorb the peace among the cries of the gulls and the hum of boats and the ever-changing light! It's a wonderful place to read too!

Last night's Memorial Celebration was wonderful! Both my parents were well enough to attend and the speaker was very knowledgeable and easy to focus on! Our meeting was at 9:15 because it must be after sundown and we share our Kingdom Hall. That time slot was less desirable to me but I enjoyed the less crowded surrounding!  When you cooperate with the arrangement you are rewarded. Thank You Jehovah!

Gifts of Spring

The beautiful Lilly is coming out to the sun! I love this time of year and this Lilly too! I hope we all dwell on the many blessing we have! My parents are feeling poorly and I am being constantly bounced between the joys of spring and the sadness of their pain. Hopefully it won't be long before Armageddon. We certainly need Jehovah's Kingdom and promised blessings!

Glorious time of year isn't it! All the flowers are in bloom! The roses are exploding with buds and blooms. The Red Lilly is peeping out of its hoody. Every different Hibiscus is wearing their Sunday best too. The Hoya is putting out more tiny teeny pink blooms(see previous post). The Honeysuckle is so fragrant too! I'm sorry I cant remember all the tiny flowers names. Our creator surely loved us to put so many different types of flowers! If you get the chance bring your camera to Corpus Christi for all the different opportunities. I wish I could cheer up the poor people in Dallas, I know they are shell shocked from those tornadoes yesterday!

Gardens of God

On the 5th it will be the anniversary of Jesus death! I so appreciate his sacrifice for us! It must have been a beautiful time of year there too as he visited the Garden of Gethsimany to pray! He had one thing on his mind. That he glorify Jehovah by how he endured the coming earthly death he was about to suffer. I hope we see more than the beautiful flowers and spend time to think about our life and the path we are following to decide if we are showing our gratitude for all we have and that which is to come!  I wanted to show you some pretty flowers. The Canna Lilly is opening up ever so slowly and all the Hibiscus are so showy!

It Grows-We Mow

Now that Spring has sprung, Laurence bought a new John Deer ZTR! Can you tell Charles is happy?
We sold our three year old John Deer while it was running great!
These things are great for in among the RV's because you can back out the way you came in! Charles was mowing everything in site!

Blissful Morning

This morning I went out to view the sunrise over the Laguna Madre parking with my drivers window to the water! Then a vehicle comes up an parks between me and the North! I was aggravated by that. I watched as he put on waders and his bait bucket and fishing pole and waded out between me and the sun's path. I think he added something blissful to the picture. I waited for a gull and that made a pleasant mood picture don't you think? So when you get lemons make lemonade!www.lagunashorevillage.com

Spring has Sprung!

Now that Spring is here the mornings are much clearer! I like to wait for a bird to spice up the view!
This is taken at the end of Caribbean street. The bridge is the John F. Kennedy Causeway!

SD cards compatibility.

I recently bought a Nikon d3100 dslr camera that uses sd cards. I needed to know which sd cards I needed because this camera does video as well as stills. I thought this info would be helpful to my readers because not all card reading devices would work and I'm glad to know that before I upgrade any cards or readers because of a sale price! I also looked in my camera manual and learned I can use all three types. I went to Nikon on line to get this factory manual. Learning should never stop!

I found this great information online about sd cards at https://www.sdcard.org/consumers/compatibility/

Understanding Backwards Compatibility
·    SDXC memory cards must only be used with SDXC devices.
·    SDXC devices can use SD memory cards, SDHC memory cards and SDXC memory cards.
·    SDHC memory cards can be used with SDHC memory cards and SDXC devices.
·    SDHC devices can use both SD memory cards and SDHC memory cards.
·    SD devices can only use SD memory cards.

Ahoy there Hoya Flower!

I'm so glad it's Spring! This Hoya plant put out a gorgeous ball of little blooms. I of course with my new closeup lens had to try to capture the pretty little bouquet for all to see. My roses have bloomed all winter and the hibiscus as well have contributed to our tropical paradise here at Laguna Shore Village RV park!
Check out the pictures of the rare sighting of a pair of flamingos a few days ago. The wax plant or porcelain flower, Hoya carnosa, is an attractive ornamental plant, native to Eastern Asia and Australia.
The Hoya’s unique appearance and heavily fragrant blossoms make it a popular indoor plant.
The flowers are semi-glossy with a fuzzy sheen due to tiny hairs on their surface, and are borne in clusters of up to 30 flowers. Each individual flower is about 0.6 inches (1.5 cm) in diameter.
The plant is a climber and is easily propagated from cuttings.

Bird Flirt

Were they fighting or flirting? I don't know but they sure were putting on a show! Roseatte Spoonbills are so pretty! These were along Laguna Shores Road here in the Flour Bluff area of Corpus Christi, TX. I had a good time watching them and all the assorted shore birds we have here. We get lots of bird watchers at our Laguna Shore Village RV Park!

Flaming Flamingos

Flamingos are extremely rare in South Texas! My husband Laurence saw a couple close to his favorite fishing spot in the Laguna Madre. He wont give me more information than that! Says I would blab to my friends! Hard to believe a man I've been married to for 38 years would feel that way! Oh well! Here's the pics he took with his pocket camera!
